Integrative Family Play Therapy Programme
Part I
A 2 day intensive training programme for parents and carers.
Goals for the training:
- Increased understanding of child development
- Increased awareness of the influence of childhood experience on adult behaviours
- Development of new insight into the importance and role of play.
The 2 day training will introduce parents and carers to established and current theory in areas of:
- Child development
- Attachment
- The importanance of play
- Trauma, separation, deprivation and loss
- Family relationships
Alongside the theory creative responses and experiential activities will help to make connections and to illustrate the information.
Part II
Further broadening and deepening of theoretical concepts is given, and experiential activities continue. Filial Therapy training is given. This stage of the programme takes 3 full days.
The two parts can be taken in one week or in two blocks with a gap of to 2 weeks.
Following the second training block carers carry out Filial Therapy sessions at home.
Consolidation training and on-going supervision of home sessions last up to 6 months
